Stabbing on Byron Recreation Ground

You may have seen a high police presence around Byron Recreation Ground yesterday. Unfortunately, there was an incident where police were called around 9pm to reports of a stabbing involving a large group of people. Three men (two in their 20s and one in his late teens) were taken to hospital. Thankfully, their injuries have been assessed as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.

At this stage, no arrests have been made and enquiries remain ongoing. We are also aware of several other incidents that have occurred locally. While these are not believed to be linked. We recognise the impact incidents such as this can have on local residents. There will continue to be a visible police presence in the area, both to support ongoing enquiries and to provide reassurance to the community.
